Citizenship & Renunciation
Citizenship
- By default, all players are permanent Citizens of the Capital, including those who live in other towns.
- Citizens retain the right to establish and join independent towns while keeping Capital citizenship.
Renunciation
Players may renounce Capital citizenship. Those who do are called Renunciants (former citizens).
Restrictions for Renunciants:
- Renunciants cannot enter Capital properties without an Alterra Access Permit (AAP).
- Global market tariffs will be applied to towns owned or primarily governed by Renunciants.
- Renunciants are not protected under Capital laws.
Renunciation process:
- Procurement of Form AHQC-RE-0892-F: must be acquired in person from the Capital Supreme Court Registry (fees up to $2,500).
- Clean Record Audit: the registry may reject applications if the resident has outstanding taxes, active fines, active bounties/warrants, or holds registered/leased Capital land.
- Physical Witness Signature: the form requires a co-signer (another resident or legal entity).
- Waiting Period: upon submission the resident loses voting rights and perks immediately, but taxes continue to be deducted; the resident may destroy the submitted form at any time during the waiting period.
- Exit & Banishment: after the waiting period the resident must return to the Court to finalize; they have 15 minutes to exit Capital areas before further restrictions apply.
